“ Venus” is a new oil painting that allowed me to explore the power of color and form in portraiture. Measuring 61 by 61 centimeters on a gallery-wrapped canvas, this piece represents a human face constructed from bold, geometric shapes in vibrant shades of orange, yellow, green, blue, red, purple, and beige. The sharp contrast against the solid dark gray background emphasizes the strength and presence of the figure. Painting this piece gave me a renewed appreciation for the expressive possibilities of oil—how layering and precise brushwork can transform simple shapes into a vivid, modern interpretation of the human spirit. This work is a celebration of color, structure, and the deep connection I feel when expressing identity through portraiture. Hope you all enjoy as I did while making this one.
