This piece was inspired by my dreams about the invasion of Ukraine and the nightly battle across this country. My family came from a Shtetl that longer exists but the memory of their struggle to survive stays in my heart. The expression ‘beyond the pale’ originated in Ukraine because the Russian Empire relocated thousands of us, Jews, to an area where they could be better controlled. Artwork Size & Ink Base:

The piece is 24”x 48”. It is made of layers of acrylic paint, matte gel media and archival preservative sealant to protect from damage from light. There are approximately 15 different layers of paint.
