I loved all the characters and plots. Most of all, I loved the fantasy of living in outer space, or on the moon, traveling unimaginable distances to other inhabited planets. I loved how I could tell that all the vehicles, and everything you saw was a minature model of a spacecraft, planet or moonbase. It actually enhanced the shows. In that pre CGI era, part of the joy of sci-fi was trying to work out how the 'special effects' and the motion, destruction or building of a model was executed. I hope viewers will experience some of whimsy I had watching these series over znd over again, but also the sense of pretend and enjoying the creative joy of reinterpreting these scens myself. Here, I chose to use magazine cut outs, tissue paper, broken CDS and other found objects to create an interstellar space scape. CONTEXT: I always enjoyed making dioramas growing up. It started in school. We had a choice in second grade for our book reports. Write a page about a book we'd just read, or make a shoebox diorama that told the story of the book as we remembered it. I always chose to do the dioramas, and out of this emerged my love of collage, found objects and mixed-media.
