Hydrotherapy tubs

Photographed inside the basement of an abandoned psychiatric hospital, this image features a row of hydrotherapy tubs once used as part of early mental health treatment. Surrounded by peeling walls, graffiti, and decades of decay, the tubs remain as artifacts of a forgotten chapter in medical history. Through black and white documentary photography and urban exploration, the image examines themes of memory, preservation, abandonment, and the evolving history of mental health care. Part of an ongoing body of work documenting abandoned and historic locations through urban exploration (urbex) across New York and New Jersey. Fine art prints are available in multiple sizes and mediums.
