Last hair dryer

Photographed inside the women's section of an abandoned psychiatric hospital, this image features a salon-style hair dryer surrounded by peeling walls and decades of institutional decay. Once part of the daily routines of patients and staff, the space now remains frozen in time. Through black and white documentary photography and urban exploration, the image examines themes of memory, identity, preservation, and the personal histories that existed within these forgotten institutions. Part of an ongoing body of work documenting abandoned and historic locations through urban exploration (urbex) across New York and New Jersey. Fine art prints are available in multiple sizes and mediums.
