Photographed atop the abandoned Paulinskill Viaduct in New Jersey, this image captures a colorful message woven into a chain-link fence overlooking the valley below. Rising 115 feet above the landscape, the historic railroad bridge once stood among the most significant engineering achievements of its time. Against a backdrop of weathered steel, concrete, and open sky, the installation creates a striking contrast between creativity, abandonment, and the passage of time. Through selective color photography and urban exploration, the image examines themes of expression, resilience, preservation, and the ways people continue to leave their mark on forgotten places. Part of an ongoing body of work documenting abandoned and historic locations through urban exploration (urbex) across New York and New Jersey. Fine art prints are available in multiple sizes and mediums.
