I was stirred by learning about the traditions and beliefs of this religion and it stayed with me my whole life. I hope viewers can simply take in the piece on a purely aesthetic level, enjoying the earth tones, umbers, and deep muted reds. I chose to work in a spare manner and to limit the composition and materials to emphasize the theme.
