Vladimir Zelensky Strength, Grace Under Fire, Blue, Brown, Black, Torn, Ruin, Senseless Description This work was inspired by reading a story about Madame Zelenska, the wife of Vladimir Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine. She was photographed in a bombed out airport, yet she never said anything negative about the Russians or about the current situation. She just expressed the fact that she and her countrymen had a lot of work to do. I hope viewers will take in the basic design of the airport and the idea of it in ruins as an abstraction. Like Madame Zelenska, we can simply reflect on some of the challenges we face in our own lives. I chosen to work in a spare bare bones manner without dramatizing or making something maudlin or self-pitying or self-righteous out of the concept of abject ruination.
