The piece was called ‘Noah Naming the Animals’. As a child,I loved looking at the print, wondering how Noah thought of all the names to call each creature! 

The other influence on the piece was a 1970's Israeli nightclub on 63rd Drive near our home in Queens called BABA. It was painted hot pink and covered in small pieces of mirror. I loved it! Everyday after getting off the subway walking home from high school in Manhattan, I would pass it, seeing shimmering reflections of limitless possibilities. It never occurred to me then that actually the decorations were a ridiculous eyesore. I always wanted to inside BABA and fantasized that the interior would be even more spectaculzr. I hope viewers will experience the joy and fun I had as a child, both seeing my parents 19th Century Art every day, as well as the passion I feel for pop culture. I chose to work with silk, pieces of mirror, glitter, glue and sparkly beads. These materials and ribbons of reflective bedazzling metal make me feel the rapt pleasure I had as a child when I made dioramas and other crafting projects.
