I wanted to give the its own organic true identity. I was hankering all of that hot summer evening I worked on this for nothing more than an orange creamsicle. Ok maybe a whole box of 12 of them? Regrettably, I was not within a twenty mile drive of a store or truck offering frozen confections so I to paint one. However I got distracted and sweaty and soon found myself repeatedly echoing my two favorite shapes onto this cornea shaped canvas! Yes, you see, I love drawing triangles and almond shaped eyes. Perhaps I only succeeding in making a cubist idea of a creamsicle…not anything evocative of a nice frozen treat. My hope is that viewers will find the piece cool and appealing nonetheless. And maybe even smile at my silliness. I chose the round canvas because I had it lying around in my porch along with 3 or four identical round canvasses.
