The concept of the light from a smidgen of oil that burned for 8 days is certainly miraculous. That is the story of the Maccabees and the miracle of Channukah. And it also speaks to deep human qualities of perseverance and love. I hope viewers will take this piece in on their own terms, perhaps not caring about the impetus that motivated its creation. I hope viewers enjoy the colors and use of space and objects. I chose to use my log cabin as the imagined setting and to imagine eternal flames and friendly spirits.
