Description This work was inspired by all the people who have chosen to leave dangerous and unliveable countries, families, relationships and environments to escape to someplace safee. I hope viewers will appreciate the state of mind I am attempting to depict here: it is full of different thoughts and emotions. The subject and execution are intentionally fractured, frazzled and almost frustrated in appearance, much like the gestalt of leaving. Forcibly moving one's life from one reality and its cirumstance to someplace unknown is full of uncertainty, intensity and fear. I chose to work with children’s foam plastic and fabric squares that can be cut into any shape and are pre-glued to stick to any surface. That and paint pens, glass marbles and stones and other found objects.
