The subject was exploring new unearthed evidence of the historic Jesus Christ. I hope viewers will enjoy the play of light and darkness here. Perhaps even contemplate the deep mysteries of the Bible, the Hebrew prophets and the holy Land. If you are so inclined, whether or not you identify as Christian, there is much to learn in the message Jesus brought to Mankind. And the impact of evolving Sects and beliefs about Jesus, that has transformed the last 2000 years. I chose to paint one of the tombs I photographed just outside of Old Jerusalem in the hills where new findings suggest believe Jesus may have been buried. I incorporated vivid colors into the piece as well as muted tones, layers of objects such as curved screws, wooden shims and other found things.
