More and 125 years ago, it is from here that my father’s parents emigrated. I hope viewers will be engaged by the piece in a visceral way, sensing intensity in the colors and composition. Even if they do not recognize its underlying theme,they might perceive a sense of violent energy My motivation to create this work was reflecting how fortunate I am. Not to attacked and bombed every night by people who want to obliterate us. I chose to use a street sign I found for the piece. The metallic surface tends to bleed colors, and that was an effect I wanted. Secondly, the random quality of the object suggests a piece of detritus found in wreckage, one whose original purpose and meaning has been erased.
