It has never been easy to be a proud outspoken Jewish person, not for 5000 plus years and perhaps especiallg not now. However it is important to preserve and understand our values, ideals and our ethics. And keep our core principals intact and active-- difficulties notwithstanding. I hope viewers of this piece will feel a sense of quiet harmony, flow and joy in the subtle Star of Davids layered in it. And perhaps a thread of uncertainty. I chose this subject because I feel deep, passionate emotions when confronted with events happening both in the United States and abroad. One learns through study and meditative quiet, to form a loving attitude towards all people. As Anne Frank wrote, 'I believe all people are basically good.' Marker pens and Light Layers of Repeating Shapes are intended to soothe but never hide. I carefully layered washes of diluted acrylic to create a translucent diaphanous effect.
