I found myself drawing pink triangles without even thinking about what I was doing. Then it occurred to me that pink triangles have a lot of symbolism. The pink triangle was worn by homosexuals in concentration camps during World War II and Nazi Germany. Now we call ourselves gay people or queer people. today the pink triangle also has symbolism and has been used as a sign of pride in the gay community. I'm not really sure which of these meanings was on my mind. I think probably both meanings. In any case I did several layers of these acrylic triangles over and over again. I really didn't understand what I was doing. On the other hand I really enjoyed the whole process. Finally after a few weeks of going back to this piece it occurred to me that it felt very empty and unfinished. There was no warmth in what I was doing and that made me sad. I was feeling too sheepish and insecure to actually draw a figure over the drawing and it didn't feel like it wanted that So after a time I realized the piece is not gonna be perfect. I'm not gonna go over the lines and make them perfect. Then I found a little slip of paper and I really have no idea where it came from the little slip of paper had a strange Abstract face on it. I found the face to be sweet. I'm not really sure where I found it or what it all means, but the little face wanted to be in the center of the painting. And so it is.
