Triangle Town is a work composed of six 31 x 41 c canvas boards. I used a based of watered down acrylic paint for the 'background.' Sharpie Flourescent Markers, Orange Flourescent Markers as well as green and blue are also prominent. The assignment I gave myself was to only use triangular shapes and not at first look at the other canvas boards while working on one at a time. Then, when I returned to the project a few weeks later, I just started working on other canvas boards randomly. After sporadically coming back to the piece over several months, the individual boards were 2​/​3 covered in ecstatic triangles that suggested, at least to me, a burgeoning two dimensional metropolis. Then I experiment with how to arrange the six canvas boards together on a larger stretched canvas of 61 x122 c. The pieces didnt fully mesh and that was the whole point. Once I glued and clamped them all to the larger canvas, I 'cheated.' To make the whole thing appear somewhat to be one whole organic work, I reworked all the seams of the canvas boards to create a sense of continuity in key places. Finally I added a layer of archival acrylic gel sealant. Then more embellishjng and 'fudging' to attempt to force the eye over the seams of the boards to create an 'organic' sense of flow' Finally mote sealant, more embellishing and a final sealant coat.
