Finding Friends

Have you ever felt that you did not have a friend in the world? Perhaps we have all had molents of such sadness that we have so thought. Of course this can never be true. However, the inner psyche can play tricks on us. finding friends is really about the process of self realization and self reconciliation that takes place when we acknowledge that we are not really alone. I set aside in assignment on this piece of doodling from imagination, people I had seen, the expressions on their faces and the idea of searching for friends and yet never finding them. After starting to doodle this piece in paint pans, but also with water down acrylic, paint and flow medium, I realized that I was full of self delusion. I actually found myself in mid despair starting to smile The gold, yellow crimson, vermilion, fire-engine red, wish on a star blues, Kelly green and other colors used here really harken back to childhood. to me they look like crayons. You know you know some of the nuance colors you get in one of those giant crayon boxes. So I did not use crayon in the piece maybe I should have, however, there is an innocence to finding friends that I think is quite winsome despite the naïve style.
