I have always been fascinated by claws. Especially the claws on my cats. These felines have a lot of control over how they use their claws. Normally I would never know they were there, not when they cuddle or curl up on my stomach or lap. However in the morning when they want me to wake up, it's a different story! They place their paws over my closed eyelids. Then very subtly let their claws touch my eyelids, not so it hurts but to remind me they have them. This painting is a meditation on these weapons of mass distraction!
