This painting shows two faceted women seated beneath a canopy of broad green leaves. One, in a red-orange dress, is seen in profile; the other, with blond curls and pale blue clothing, turns toward the viewer while holding a cocktail glass. A woven basket of fruit fills the lower right corner, and the vivid blue background sharpens the scene’s angular, mosaic-like planes and saturated reds, yellows, and greens.
