“The Third Heart” (120 × 100 cm) — Some paintings have the power to give an entire space its character. This is one of them. The large octopus draws you in almost physically. The longer you look, the more details you begin to notice: hundreds of circles along its tentacles, layers of blue, the intricate texture of its surface, the deep dark background, and the unexpected contrast of burgundy and scarlet flowers. I wanted to create this piece for someone who appreciates rare, memorable things. Someone with their own sense of taste, who chooses what surrounds them because it speaks to them — not because it happens to be on trend. 🐙 The octopus itself is an extraordinary creature. It has three hearts, an incredibly complex nervous system capable of experiencing stress, and the ability to change the colour and texture of its body and find its way out of remarkably difficult situations. Its nature is a combination of intelligence, adaptability, curiosity, and a very particular kind of independence. And another beautiful fact: an octopus really does have blue blood. This is because its blood uses hemocyanin, a copper-containing protein, to carry oxygen. I imagine this painting in the home of someone with character. Someone who has seen a lot, feels deeply, loves travelling, unusual stories, good design, and objects that have something to say. In an interior, this painting immediately becomes a focal point. It needs space, good light, and a place where you can really take your time looking at it. And it keeps revealing itself. Today you notice the colour. Tomorrow, the details. A month later, you suddenly discover a completely different part of it. A memorable interior is defined by the character of the person who lives there. And sometimes, art can reveal that character far better than words.
