Hello, I'm Cathy G.
My name is Cathy Ghyoot, I’m from Bruges, Belgium and my art is macro photography/Digital Art. For my flower artworks I start with making an extensive photo report from which I select 15 to 20 pictures, photos from flowers, grasses, grains, textures and liquids, everything nature offers. The interplay and reflection of sunlight and artificial light is a significant factor and works very inspiring. Then I make a digital composition, built up with different layers. I love to work with vibrant colors, I add depth so that they look like paintings, with a nod to the 17th century wallpaper. For my abstract artworks I work with different objects, materials, patterns, liquids, paint… I love vivid colors so illumination is very important in this process. It’s very exciting to take pictures of everyday natural subjects and transform them in my “macro world”, mostly things you can hardly see with the naked eye. Choice of output : - printed on high-quality photo paper between aluminum dibond and acrylic glass, sometimes with a float frame. This output gives a beautiful reflection and interesting color depth. - printed fine art by artist with black or white passe-partout and frame. The fine art paper gives the work an intense sharpness and a very nice color palette.
