Hello, I'm michalexiele visualarts.

Born in Germany I moved to Belgium for love at the age of 32. After a career of 35 years in the electronics and telecommunication industry my wife and I have been stuck by cancer both at the same time. While I seem to have won the battle so far, my beloved wife has lost the fight 4 years ago. In order to cope with this great loss and to deal with my own cancer disease I have started with my creative process, first with wood turning and carving and a bit later I've jumped into the adventure of painting, drawing and sculpting. I’m experimenting with different styles using acrylics, texture paste, water color, ink and mixed media in general. I intend to cope with my situation and to express myself through my abstract paintings, trying to also incorporate also figurative and portrait aspects in my work. I usually start with a very rough idea but without detailed plan and just let it flow and grow during the painting process. Due to the hard times I have to cope with, my paintings usually have earthy color tones or black and white or grey tones, although I’m trying to incorporate also brighter highlights. It is a very intense experience going through hard times and putting feelings and emotions into paintings and sculptures after having worked a lifetime in a very structured and methodical industrial world. But it really enlarged my mind and opened up a very new world to me.
