Hello, I'm Marco Sabatino Picone.

Marco Sabatino Picone is an Italian contemporary artist currently based in the United States. A former Italian Air Force officer and pilot, his artistic practice transforms personal experiences into visual narratives centered on passage, change, and human transformation. His work is deeply rooted in a personal transition that redefined his own identity. After a 22-year military career and a life built in Italy, he made the decision to leave behind his profession, homeland, and the familiarity of family and certainties to follow love and begin a new life in the United States with his American wife. That experience became more than a geographical move; it became a passage between different versions of himself. For Marco Sabatino Picone, growth rarely comes from permanence. It emerges from movement, uncertainty, and the courage to step beyond what is known. His work explores the emotional space between departure and arrival: the moment where identity evolves and where change becomes transformation. Rejecting the traditional limits of the canvas, he works with texture paste, pouring techniques, irregular surfaces, and layered materials to create works that feel physically and emotionally alive. His paintings are not intended simply to represent places or memories; they aim to capture the process of becoming. Recently, his artistic journey has received early recognition through advancing through the first two selection rounds of the People's Artist competition promoted by Johnny Depp, while his work Enzo Ferrari was officially selected for the ICONS: Art for the Ages exhibition in San Diego. These milestones reflect the beginning of an evolving artistic path that continues to connect personal history with universal themes of identity, memory, and transformation.
