Hello, I'm Maciej Kędzielski.

Maciej Kedzielski is a self-taught painter based in Kraków, Poland, working in acrylic and ink on paper. His compositions are built from layered, interlocking blocks and loose geometry in deep blue, teal, sage, ochre and coral set against fields of cream, colours pushed against one another to see how far unrelated forms can go before they stop getting along. Maciej treats intuition as a language, working toward a state in which form, colour and material arrive through an unbroken exchange between the body and intuition where effort disappears. And, that’s my primary goal, to reach the place where process of creation becomes automated, no will power or calculation is involved, pure translation of what comes from the inner blurry area. His roots scattered across Central Europe and partly unknown to him have left him more citizen of the world than local. His paintings continue that resistance, a place to look for routes toward infinite freedom. He is worth watching for the discipline he brings to a practice built on surrender
