Himani Ishar Sindhwani is a Singapore-based mixed media artist whose art practice investigates place not as a fixed point on a map, but as a living convergence of light, memory, and mood. Her work sits where documentation means imagination. It begins with immersive photography on location, capturing fleeting elements: shifting light, moving water, transient weather, the cadence of foliage and human presence. These photographs are not final images, but impressions and perspectives to be recomposed. In the studio, these images become her raw materials. She layers and blends multiple photographs, employing digital brushes, textures, and color treatments to transcend the literal photograph. Each piece is then finished with physical textures and paint strokes, making it a unique, meditative work that holds the essence of a time and place Himani continues to develop a multidisciplinary practice that celebrates beauty, connection, and the emotional resonance of place.
