Artist and Founder of Sgraffitart by Gertrude Small-scale art. Enlarged worlds. Inspired by gemmology and my own interpretation of the sgraffito technique. Authenticity, honesty, and expressive depth define both who I am as a person and my artistic practice. The experiences of my life have shaped me into a strong and distinctive individual. Through my art, I create space to transform thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences into visual expression. During my Gem-A studies in London to become an FGA Gemmologist, and throughout my professional career in the world of jewellery and gemstones, I learned to discover the extraordinary within the smallest details. This way of seeing continues to shape my artistic vision and inspires me to look beyond the obvious. With Sgraffitart by Gertrude, I have created an artistic brand that reflects my unique signature style. It represents my interpretation of the sgraffito technique, where texture, layering, and expression merge to create works rich in depth, movement, and vitality. Each piece tells its own story—shaped by experience, emotion, and the traces of life. Through my concept of Magnified Perception, high-resolution scans, selective enlargement, and digital printing, structures and details become visible that are easily overlooked in the original artwork. These newly revealed perspectives invite the viewer to look closer and discover the hidden beauty within each piece. When I paint, my soul speaks in colors that words could never express.
