Federico Avena is an artist born in Rome in 2007 who is currently active throughout Italy. He works primarily in abstract painting—incorporating figurative and textural elements—and explores contrasts such as harmony, chaos, and movement through the use of line. He is dedicated to artistic research, focusing on mixed-media techniques on canvas. Over time, his work has evolved from geometric compositions to more gestural ones, while consistently maintaining a common theme: lines. His art investigates the nature of the schematic gesture, adaptability, and the dialogue between opposing worlds. He has exhibited in various group and solo shows at galleries and independent spaces in cities including Rome, Florence, L’Aquila, and Turin. In 2024, he was awarded a prize for winning the competition marking the 250th anniversary of the Guardia di Finanza. He currently lives and works in Rome and is expanding the boundaries of his art to include sculpture.
