Hello, I'm Edita Åbrink.
I am a Sweden-based self-taught contemporary abstract artist exploring emotion, transformation, and the invisible forces that shape our inner lives and connect us as human beings. My artistic process is intuitive and rooted in the fluid nature of colour. I work with movement, texture, layering, and chance, allowing each painting to develop its own rhythm and identity. Rather than seeking complete control, I embrace the dialogue between intention and spontaneity, guiding the material while allowing it to surprise me. Nature is a central source of inspiration—not as something I seek to reproduce, but as a metaphor for the human experience. Storms, oceans, light, movement, and changing landscapes become expressions of vulnerability, resilience, hope, uncertainty, and transformation. At the heart of my practice are three values I consider among life’s greatest treasures: time, love, and health. Through painting, I explore the importance of presence, acceptance, and the courage to let go and trust the process. For me, art is more than an object. It is a way of being present—a space where colour and movement can transform an emotion into something tangible and universal. When the paint dries, the moment becomes permanent.
