His travels through Africa, Asia, Oceania, the Caribbean, Central and South America have profoundly influenced his artistic practice. A particularly meaningful encounter in Ethiopia became a turning point in his creative journey. What others express through words, Villgrattner translates into colour, form, and texture. Since 2019, the Austrian artist has increasingly presented his work internationally, with exhibitions in Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Monaco, Spain, and Switzerland. His works emerge intuitively, guided by trust in the moment. Layer by layer, colours, textures, and materials come together to create works filled with depth, energy, and expression. At the heart of his art are humanity, nature, and ethics. Villgrattner’s art does not offer ready-made answers. Instead, it invites us to pause, to feel, and to see the world – and perhaps ourselves – through new eyes.
