I painted this large piece in the middle of 2020. Some tell me it looks like my sister which wasn't my intention at all ha! This won the "Judges Pick" at Milan Art Institute that year as well. It was their first ever painting competition and I won the first one. A lot happened in the year 2020 around the entire world, in all communities, and all seasons of that year. It was all very heavy and all very consuming. It was easy to fall into the "pit of despair" kind of mindset and miss all the beauty that was still happening in front of our eyes. In this woman eyes, you can feel the weight of what she is dealing with but their is that spark of beauty and hope still holding on! We all need to strive to do so. Humanity is humbling but oh so beautiful too! Its why this just HAD to be a 48x60. It need to be "All Consuming" to the viewer.
