Amazon Rain explores the tranquil interplay of water, light, and rainforest through a contemporary impressionist language that approaches abstraction. Layered oil glazes, fluid brushwork, and subtle shifts in color evoke the reflective surface of flooded forest, where the boundaries between reality and reflection quietly dissolve. Rather than describing a specific location, the painting invites viewers into an atmospheric experience of the Amazon—its serenity, depth, and ever-changing light. Part of my Amazon series inspired by the Bienal Amazônia in Brazil, the work celebrates both the ecological richness and the delicate balance of this extraordinary landscape.
