The timber made me think of planks lining the tomb of an ancient king. It also reminded me of the weeks I worked in Israel on documentaries about Jesus and Sodom and Gomorrah. I hope viewers will enjoy the fantasy of the piece as a 3-D mock up, or diarama showing a made -up archaeologist’s discovery. I chose to create layers of many objects, paint, gel and glue just as sites have strata to simulate different epochs of time, sedimentation and decay.
