Bedazzled Blue

This piece was inspired by the paradoxically uplifting effect that the color blue always has on my mood. I almost never feel blue when I stare at brilliant shades of cerulean, periwinkle, royal, azurean, cobalt or even turqoise...blue. This may be because it is a soothing color, or because I am a Pisces and love anything to so with water, the ocean and seas. It could also be as a result of my mother dressing me mostly in blue as a child. She said that even before I could speak I was attracted to the color and seem happiest wearing blue, which is also the color of my eyes. Here I set the assignment of doing a piece that would bring me back to a centered state where i felt an inner sense of 'flow.' I arranged little silicon gemstones and drew my preferred, possibly favorite shape after triangles....in a repetitive trance. That shape is a simplified almond shaped eye, which looks like Jesus fish symbol. I kept drawing Egyptian lapis lazuli eyes over and over. And I notices my mood lifting as if by magic. Drawing my favorite shapes in my favorite colors always makes me feel better. Even a bit of blue is good for you too! What is your favorite color and shape?
