My favorite theme of the series was when we explored mysteries that allowed true discoveries to be made. This happened in Egypt when we got the permission for the first time to test the DNA of a mysterious mummy that turned to be the mother of King Tut--none other than Nefertiti. I hope viewers will enjoy the abstract depiction of this passion for uncovering ancient secrets. I used many found items I had in my porch studio, like bags of buttons I found on Ebay --and simply started ‘messing around’ and painting and gluing. When it would dry I would go back and remove things that did not look quite right and then go back to glue and painting again. Over a few months, the piece evolved until it finally felt right!
