When the wind ripped thru the forest below and around the cabin perched 500 feet above Chapman Highway in South Knoxville, TN. Turning off the winding, hilly treacherous highway they call 'bloody Chapman' after work, I would breath a sigh of relief. Making a left across two lanes of speeding traffic which was often unseen until the last second. But safe turning onto Dick Ford, once I pased the creepy tiny cinderblock health club, which I called, 'The Deliverance Gym.' Then I disappeared from the world entirely. Into a sanctuary of ancient trees. As I would snake up the one lane road, leaves flying off the trees fluttering past as though nature was celebrating the change of season. I hope viewers will enjoy the sense of safety amidst the motion of wind, and approaching chill. I chose to work with watery acrylic paints and when the paint was 2​/​3 dry, rake my finger nails through the paint in a jagged thoughtless movement. Like trying to catch a leave falling to the ground. I scratched the trunks of trees and other details. This one was done in a matter of 45 minutes. Not including the wait time for drying paint.
