I imagined an enveloping, reassuring and protective place in which to keep my thoughts, my dreams to give them time to germinate and be born in Spring. I drew the section of a tree trunk, sewing a single line that wraps around itself and composes the whole design. In the seam I inserted a ribbon the color of the calm and soft light of a candle. The outer edge is more raised to draw the boundary and protection, like arms clasping in an embrace. I represented hibernation with its feeling of expectation and trust.
