Iquitos is the largest city in the Amazon and it is not accessible by road, only by boat and plane via a tiny airport cut in the jungle. I was mesmerized by the beauty and endless variety of plant, bird and animal life, but also disturbed by the city’s contrasts. Completely wild jungle next to haphazard toxic waste dumps. I hope viewers will enjoy the colors and contrasts of the material and composition. I chose to depict Iquitos from an aerial view using found items, glitter, jartops, craft tools, foil, stones, paper, plastic and other objects.
