Lavendar is meant here to signify a state of mind and an emotional note: soothing, accepting, cradling, healing, and invigorating. Rarely if ever have I actually seen leaves of Lavendar but in my heart, they are so. I hope viewers will enjoy the profusion of hues in this piece: ipurple, pink, magenta and lilac, to name just a few. My goal was to create a feel of cascading water and translucent living fiber. A kind of depth x-ray vision into in the exuberant joy of leaves. I chose to transform a simple canvas with strips of packing plastic cut into different shapes. Then layers of gel, glue and juicy thin paint. Once dry, repeat with more gel, paint and glue.
