Los Angeles Sunset

Subject: Landscape Mediums: Acrylic Materials, Canvas, cellophane, acrylic flow medium Styles: Expressionism, Folk, Mixed-Media Keywords Inferno, Pacific Palisades, Tragedy, Vivid Colors, Destruction, Aftermath Description This work was inspired by my profound sadness as I followed the ongoing tragedy of the Los Angeles Fires. A friend who lives there me that the only event that gives her joy are the startling Sunsets caused by all the smoke. I hope viewers will feel some of the respect and disturbing awe that I do. I used simple acrylic paint with flow medium layers of cellophane. I did 7 or 8 rounds of covering the canvas in juicy watered paint, followed by covering it with cellophane, letting it dry overnight, then proceeding with successive adjustments and layers of paint.
