NAYSAYERS is a piece inspired by all the 'friends', real and imagined that have claimed to know what is best for me. I'm sharing a piece that reads like a crowd of half-stories. Spectral faces and mask-like visages drift through aquamarine and indigo threaded with warm rust and pale ochre. Animal and human traits slip into one another so you find manes and snouts beside hollow-eyed profiles, while repeating circles and tight marks set up a quiet rhythm. Should I offer this work as a tote-bag? I want to know your opinion! It’s uncanny but intimate, and every pass seems to reveal a new face.
