People Who Scare Me is intended to be a cathartic exercise. I'm not painting actual people. What I'm trying to do is to express the feelings of fear and anxiety. In truth, it's it's the actual doing of the work that makes me feel better. Taupe, charcoal, and brown stripes our loosely arranged from top to bottom on the canvas. Then in metallic acrylic markers I recall gestures. Mirror expressions that make me nervous. Once I put it all on canvas it all seems rather silly, doesn't it?
