I love the long and curly petals of Spider Crysanthemums and wanted to depict and slightly exaggerate the petal form and the many shapes it uncurls to. They appear to have movement in still photographs and I hoped to achieve the appearance of movement in this digital oil pastel “painting”. Pale and delicate colours were used to match the bouquet in my artwork. I used various iPad Procreate brush stamps which mimic real oil pastel application. My Apple Pencil acts as an oil pastel while creating this type of artwork.
