My abstract practice translates the geological processes of Serra da Estrela without illustrating its mountains or rivers. Working with acrylics, gesso, cotton, natural sand and mineral sediments, I use absorption, flow, sedimentation, abrasion and exposure to build layered surfaces that record time and transformation. Blue operates as a responsive field, changing with light, material density, scale and viewing distance. Conceived in relation to the body and surrounding architecture, these large-scale paintings are particularly suited to hospitality, luxury residential, corporate and contemplative interiors, where art is understood as a spatial presence rather than decoration.
