But also my passion for LIGHT as such, in all its spiritual, perceptual and emotional vicissitudes. Anothee major inspiration for making this piece is David Bowie, and specificallt his song SPEED OF LIFE, which is the first track on the LOW album, which if memory serves, was released around 1977, when I was 12. I would have lined up at Sam Goody's Record Store to buy it the day it came out, if there had been a line to queue on! More than even simply a deep abiding passion for Bowie's music, I felt then and still feel an intense affinity for his visual and conceptual aesthetic. I hope viewers enjoy the colors and hopefully the intended sense of dynamic motion. I chose to work with layers of paint, bright neon markers, threading and other materials.
