VIEW FROM CARACUSS (mis-spelling intentional, thanks Miriam Webster Dictionary) was inspired by my obsessive, counter-productive 24​/​7 doomscrawling... as geopolitical events unfold around in unsteady, unclear, undulating waves of bullshit and the aftershocks of uncertainty. What is really going on? BUT WHAT IS TRUTH? Pontius Pilate croons in Jesus Christ Superstar. '...is truth unchanging law? We both have truths-- are mine the same as yours?' I wanted to share View From Caracas from the 1001 Landscapes series. The design and blurred muted use of color is meant to suggest inner torpor and seismic WTF! This is roughly what I was going for. I find triangles in general incredibky dynamic. As a rule they are unstable, and yet strong, like triangular atomic bonds. Most dig p pyramid shapes specifically. I am totally unable to be objective about my work. So, honestly (but try to be nice) what do you think of VIEW FROM CARACUS? What I was going for: Layered chevron bands in sunlit yellow, coral, and slate blue guide the eye across a smoky strip of grays and charcoal, while small red and cobalt shapes punctuate the pattern. The steady rhythm of the geometry meets a worn, textured surface that keeps things feeling alive and a little unexpected. I really enjoyed making this one. Much more loose and relaxed than most of my normal frenzied style. Heh heh.
