Hello, I'm Voss Design Objects.

Nick Voß is a German artist and designer based in Aachen and the founder of Voss Design Objects. His artistic practice exists at the intersection of contemporary sculpture, mixed-media art and collectible design. Voß combines characterful, carefully selected woods and fine hardwoods with thousands of individually cut slices made from reclaimed wine corks. Through his self-developed artistic process, he creates tactile reliefs and unique sculptural objects distinguished by their organic structures, strong material contrasts and precise craftsmanship. Smoked oak and olive root wood have formed the foundation of his work to date. As his artistic practice evolves, he continues to expand his material language through the use of further rare and expressive fine woods. The natural form, grain and history of each piece of wood become an essential part of every artwork. Through his art, Nick Voß gives expression to the past and connects it with his personal reflection on life. Memories, experiences and fleeting moments are gathered, rearranged and transformed into enduring forms. Variations in colour, grain and texture reflect how some memories remain clear and vivid while others gradually fade over time, yet continue to form part of our story. In this way, he transforms materials that carry traces of a former life into unique art objects with new meaning. Each artwork is handcrafted in Aachen and created as a one-of-a-kind object with its own character, meaning and story.
